Heritage Family Restaurant in Whiting

Heritage diner has consistently good food and service. They cater to the elderly and they are always sweet to my mom and I when we visit. Mother's Day they gave out fresh roses to all the moms. They also offer special meals for Veterans. They are great!

Good food at a great price. Service was impeccable.

It's hard finding a place that does great Benedicts and this is now one to add to the list that does! Nice atmosphere and warm welcoming people. Would recommend it to anyone really. A must stop and try.

Great local restaurant. Very nice new owners and servers! Breakfast menu is very good, affordable and INCLUDES coffee. Really nice if you want to dine solo especially after a trip to the Lab Corp office in that center after fasting!

Pretty good I had the potato pancakes with turkey bacon and a side of grits and scrambled eggs everything was cooked well just wish they had gluten free bread option I would have gotten lunch instead of breakfast

Order a smothered steak dinner...the steak was tough and chewy and hard to cut and ended up getting sick...do not recommend!!

It's ok. The food might be a bit bland for International clients who are use to flavorful meals but by American standards it's pretty good. The service is prompt the atmosphere is peaceful and laid back.

Food is average, sometimes service is good. We got served something we didn't order! We only got excuses!

I wanted to share this note my mom wrote me recently. Her birthday is June 17th and she will be 98 years young. “Deb,For my birthday — Is the restaurant still open?Baked Eggplant and the pasta. Rice pudding. That’s it for me! Is it still the Heritage?If it doesn’t work out- don’t worry. Love , Proud mom Dot”She sent this to me in the mail as I haven’t been visiting. You can be sure I will be delivering her birthday wish next Wednesday! 😊mA meal at the Heritage was always a treat for mom & dad!

I have been using this restaurant for about 10 years now. I say using because I usually get carry-out. I live alone and I don't like eating at restaurant's alone. The Heritage has a good sized menu, plenty of specials, deserts, oh did I mention their deserts? :-) my weakness! The price is right and the food is good. Need I say more?

Got the pork roll and cheese that came with home fries. It wasn't bad, but feel like it could of had more pork roll on it. Felt sort of skimpy.

This is a great comfortable clean and friendly environment delicious food I went for a early dinner on a Sunday night we had a waitress Leah service was fantastic!!! She was really such a pleasure!!!! We will definitely be back again!!!

Always a good meal here .it was good when Brian owned it and the tradition has kept up with the new owners. Friendly staff .love the Hoboken burger and the Tuscany sandwich. When they offer the lamb shank dinner it's always my choice.#

A real local place for the senior crowd located in the senior area of town. Decent food. Decent prices.

Anything fried tastes the same. Greasy fries, chicken tenders, fish. All tastes the same. Should change the frying oil more often, and keep the foods separate. Also, too many onions and fatty bacon in the potato soup. Keep it simple. Other foods, not fried, are good. Nice atmosphere. Nice staff.

The food here is always good. Sometimes the wait is long and the service is not always very friendly. Prices are very affordable.

We go there 3 days a week for breakfast Only there is not much you can do wrong with breakfast. The owner does not take control or teach certain waitresses how to act . They can be very rude at times that makes your experience unpleasant. The waiters are always The same very respectable. Some of these waitresses are older and have the attitude I say what I want and do what I want. The one with either white or blonde is the worst she is like a Jekyll and hide. There is another who is a little Heavy with dark hair and had to ask her if she was having a bad day because sometimes she is very pleasant. Mr owner if you read this you must tell these two to leave any anxiety they have at the door and don’t take it out on the customers. I have read many comments on your web on how nasty some employees at you place can be. For the customers sake and your own clean it up for we are thinking to go down the road to a place where they are always welcoming.

Always hot fresh food and friendly waitstaff. They have a wide variety of breakfast options add well as lunch or dinners and great specials. I also appreciate the nod to our military. They have a "Missing Man Table" in remembrance of missing/fallen members, all branches are recognized.

Great food and warm atmosphere. Seafood bisque was yummy as well as the sampler app. Cod was cooked perfect and was not expecting onion rings. The chicken ans waffels were excellent and the ribs fell off the bone. Great choice especially since not much in the area. Will go again and keep up the great work!
